Vintage RARE Rockwell Collins HF-8023 1kW Amplifier & Matching HF-8032 Power Supply

Up for sale is a Rockwell Collins HF-8014A Synthesized HF Exciter, a core component of the legendary Collins HF-80 series of high-performance communications equipment.

This unit is the "brains" of the transmitter, responsible for generating a precise, stable, and low-power RF signal across the entire HF spectrum. The signal from this exciter is then sent to a power amplifier (like the Collins HF-8023) to be boosted to full power. Its synthesized design allows for precise digital frequency control without the need for individual crystals.

This unit also has military provenance, as the HF-80 system was used in the U.S. Military's AN/TSC-60(V) communications shelters.

Please examine all photos carefully as they are the primary description of the item's condition. This is vintage, surplus electronic equipment.
Previously used condition - Untested, selling as-is for parts, repair or restoration. Scuffs and scratches from many years of use and handling. Inside is very nice. Unit has a slight electronics burning smell when powered on so maybe one or more capacitors need to be replaced or it does not like being turned on without anything attached. I limited powering on to less than 15 seconds at a time, for either potential cause.
