Vintage hand carved wood bird folk art brooch pin, approximately 3-5/8" tall x 1-1/2" wide. A perched bird carved from a single piece of wood, with knife-cut feather detail on the wings and visible tool marks. The back is wood-burned with the carver's initials and a date (please see photos). Glued-on bar pin with a C-clasp catch.
This brooch is in very good previously used condition with light scuffs, scratches, dust and may have a small nick on one back edge from previous use and storage. A fine curved line runs across the breast below the head.
